Let's Take a Walk

2008/12/20

"Hey man, you know what I really like?"

"What?"

"Those sprinklers with wheels. They're all *chkachkachka fffffffrw* *creep*."

"Yeah."

"All I'm saying is that they're like little water boquets. They're little presents to me when I stroll down suburban streets. They're pieces of art."

"Yeah, those are pretty cool, but I like those pool-cleaning robots. And Roombas. Actually, come to think of it, I like any kind of cleaning robot. 'Well, no one likes doing this stuff so let's make robots do it for us.' No wonder the robots are going to rebel and kill us all."

"Like that movie Wall-E. Did you see that?"

"Yeah."

"Man, that was crazy. D'ya think that will ever happen to us?"

"I dunno, we've got a long shelf-life and our sell-by date has worn off, so I'm not sure if we'll even know when we've gone bad."

"Maybe...but in the meantime, we can at least watch some huge-ass TVs."

"There's always that, yep."

"And music is pretty nice, too."

"Yeah."

"And puppies. I like puppies."

"Me too."

"And I guess the oceans aren't too bad—"

"—and chocolate—"

"—playing in the snow—"

"—pogo sticks—"

"—macaroni and cheese, holding hands with someone you like—"

"—rollercoasters, sailing and catching a perfect gust of wind—"

"—magic shows, good books, finding money in your pocket, making out, watching the sun set—"

"—bad books, home-cooked meals, bubble wrap, flowers, getting your hands dirty, fortune cookies—"

"—board games, getting drunk with your friends and doing something stupid, climbing trees, doing donuts in your car, waking up next to your loved one, dinner—"

"—lunch, breakfast, videogames, leaning up suavely against walls, playing the guitar, seeing old friends, Legos, sports—"

"—sleep, laughing until you can't breathe, the sound good scissors make, curly fries, love—"

"..."

"..."

The two astronauts looked down on the Earth, one thousand kilometers below.

"Yeah."

"Yeah."
